It has been a long time since the last newsletter.
Half of the renovation of the roof has been completed. For specific and financial reasons, we decided to postpone the second half of the roof after october 2008.
This year we organised for the first time the anniversary date of the famous party given by Nicolas Fouquet to the young King Louis XIV.
The public who came this year saw the King, Fouquet and the Court, walking down the steps towards the gardens, watched the play of Moliere followed by a spectacular fireworks. It has been a great succes since more than 6000 persons came that night for this first reconstitution.
This event showed us the interest for the public for such events, an therefore we will propose the same event with more animations during 2 nights in 2008: August 15th and 16th 2008.
You will be able to see some of the pictures of the 2007 event on our website : Menu The chateau - Vaux by pictures and then select the right gallery. A short movie will be posted soon but is already visible on You Tube.
from december 22nd to january 6th
After the sucess of last year, we prepare this event a long time in advance. Some of us go to specific Tradeshows to discover what are the trends.
This year, we will show new decors such as the Christmas table done in partnership with Christofle for the silverare and La Rochere for the glasses.
Children will be the most spoiled since there will be a donkey and sheeps in the first Courtyard next to the carriage museum.
Some new animals related to the recent Disney movie "Ratatouille" will be displayed in the crib created By Hilton Mc Connico.
Also, at the bottom of the 8m tall Christmas tree of the Grand Salon, every kids will receive a Papo present.
Last surprise but not least :
Snow will fall in the honor Courtyard leading to the chateau every first 10 minutes of each hour...
And when the night starts to fall, do not miss all the illuminations in the gardens.
For an easier access, we organised some direct transfers from the center of Paris with ParisVision buses. Do not hesitate to contact them or to check their website www.parisvision.com in order to get more details.
Finally, we are happy to annouce you that we created our own chocolate box, the chocolates beeing done by the famous chocolate chef Frédéric Cassel based at Fontainebleau. You will be able to find it at our boutique or on our website for the price of 15€. ( 160g)
