Day visit

Every day (French Bank Holidays included) from March 9th to November 11th, 2014.

From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm 
Last entrance at 5.45 pm (5.00 pm on Sundays) 

 
Prices 

Please note:
- Prices may change when a special event takes place.
- Should you get a reduced price, you’ll have to show a proof on your arrival. 
- The “family price” is meant for 2 adults and and 2 children aged 6  to 16 or 1 adult and 3 children aged 6 to 16.

 

Candlelight visit

Every Saturday evenings from May 3rd to October 4th, 2014
From 5.00 pm to midnight
Last entrance at 11.00 pm

Water Show

Every 2nd and last Saturdays of each month from March 29th to October 11th, 2014

Between 3 and 6 pm
No extra fee. 

 

Christmas at Vaux le Vicomte

 

In December and January from 10.30 am to 6 pm, on the following days : 
- November 29th and 30th; December 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th.
- Everyday from December 20th, 2014 to January 4th, 2015 (except on December 25th and January 1st)

On December 24th and 31st, the estate closes its doors at 5.00 pm.

 

  

How to get there

 NEW ! DIRECT SHUTTLE FROM PARIS BY COACH

  • PARIS – château de Vaux le Vicomte – château de Fontainebleau – PARIS

Package including transportation from the center of Paris (address : 2 rue des Pyramides – Paris 1st Arrdt) with Cityrama-Parisvision.
+ tickets for visits with audio-guide to both chateaux, Vaux le Vicomte and Fontainebleau in the same day.

Departure at 9:15a.m. – Return around 06:15p.m. EVERYDAY from March 31st to October 31st, EXCEPT ON TUESDAYS.

Information and bookings

 

 

BY CAR : 55kms from Paris – 1 hour

Take the A4 or A6 motorway, then follow signs to Troyes via the motorway A5.
The nearest motorway exit to the Château is Exit No.15 signposted to Saint Germain Laxis.

GPS: First enter the municipal area of Maincy, and you will then find the Château of Vaux-le-Vicomte on the D215 local departmental road. GPS co-ordinates (Lat x Long): 48.568727000, 2.713580000

 

BY TRAIN : from Gare de Lyon to Melun – direct trains every 30min – Duration : 30 min.

 

 

  In Melun, possibility of taxi (+33 (0) 1 64 52 51 50) or shuttle « ChateauBus » on week ends and public holidays from March 29th to November 11th. (Distance=6km) and on Saturdays from May to October (candlelight visit)

 Please note, to reach the “Chateaubus” station follow the orange marking on the ground.

Useful information

 - Pets are not allowed in the Estate.
- Picnics are allowed only on the dedicated areas.
- Strollers are not allowed inside the château but can be used in the garden and in the Museum.
- Clubcars renting – 4 seats – To enjoy the garden: 15 € for 45 mn.  

We wish to leave you with an unforgettable memory of your visit, and to this end the Vaux le Vicomte estate includes two restaurants where visitors may enjoy lunch (or dinner on Saturday evenings only), 

 

People with reduced mobility

Arrangements have been made so that people with reduced mobility can access as much of the estate as possible, despite its many cobbled areas and stairs. Wheelchairs are available at the ticket desks in the entrance area and electric cars are available for hire to facilitate mobility around the gardens. Please do not hesitate to approach our staff should you have any specific requirements. They are there to help.

  • Reserved parking spaces and disabled toilets at the estate’s entrance.

    • Possibility of visiting the ground floor of the château (please note this does involve around 30 steps; the staff are at your disposal should you require any assistance)
