Projects and Sponsorship

Vaux le Vicomte would be honoured to have you as a partner, by associating your name or your group's name and the image of your company with that of Vaux le Vicomte, the French masterpiece that served as the inspiration for Versailles.

The action of sponsors, associations and foundations is now encouraged by the sponsorship law, which promotes private initiatives in support of French heritage.
A tax incentive applies to donations from individuals and companies: a 60% tax reduction, twice as much as previously.
Other changes have been made to complete the measure and give new life to sponsorship in this country.

Since Vaux le Vicomte was acquired by Alfred Sommier in 1875, the owners' intention and strategy has been to present the estate to visitors as it was in the time of Nicolas Fouquet.
In order to make this possible, four major projects are planned to restore Vaux to the original glory which so impressed the young king Louis XIV at the famous party on 17 August 1661:

• Reinstating the chapel of Superintendent Fouquet in the château.
• Restoring the 16 pools in Le Nôtre's gardens.
• Charles le Brun's project on the ceiling of the Grand Salon.
• Illuminating Le Nôtre's gardens.
